Last 27th September 2019, the first stage of LIFE-Food.Waste.StandUp Roadshow took place in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, organised by Federdistribuzione in collaboration with all other partners of the Project. The Governor of the Region, Mr. Massimiliano Fedriga participated to express his gratitude and stress the importance of LIFE Project, including it in among relevant projects of the Region; moreover, the Regional Councillor for Agrifood, Forestry and Fish Resources and Mountain areas, Mr. Stefano Zannier and Regional Councillor for Environment protection, Energy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Fabio Scoccimarro took part in the event. The President of Federdistribuzione, Mr. Claudio Gradara pointed out Projects activities and the three-year commitment of the Consortium; then, he gave the flour to other speakers of the Round Table. Besides a representative of Federalimentare, Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus and Unione Nazionale Consumatori, also other prominent personalities participated, such as Prof. Federico Nassivera from Università degli Studi di Udine, Ms. Elena Caprotti and Mr. Simone Birting from central division of Environment Protection, Energy and Sustainable Development of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and Mr. Pierpaolo Rovere from the agrifood Cluster of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region: they all brought their contribution and shared their daily experience within the Friulian territory. Ms. Federica Coppo, CSR-Social Marketing and Press Office of Aspiag Service, made another important contribution: she introduced a corporate history, highlighting the commitment and the initiatives carried out from her Company to reduce food waste and to promote donations. During this step, the Consortium of LIFE-Food.Waste.StandUp and Friuli Venezia Giulia Region signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalise the collaboration among economic entities and Institution which took part in this event to start concrete and joint initiatives on this sensitive issue.
